The Repair Cafes in Delaware County are an initiative of Transition Catskills, a group of full and part-time residents in the Catskill Mountain region of upstate New York who have come together to develop projects that can strengthen the local economy, improve living standards, and build community resilience as we face a future of unstable energy supplies and a changing climate.
The Catskill Mountains is a scenic, sparsely populated area, dotted with villages, each with its own character and charm. And so, we move our Repair Cafes around to different villages so that people don't have to drive long distances to attend.
And thanks to all our wonderful Repair Specialists who share their expertise to help their neighbors, to Michael Mathis for his eternal good cheer and organizational finesse, and to Sam Baskin from Otsego Bicycle for volunteering his amazing bike repair skills.
