In March 2017, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation held a webinar titled “Fixing Stuff & Creating Community” to encourage municipalities to start a Repair Cafe. Village trustee Gina Giuliano took note and organized the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson’s first event for July 2017.
Repair Cafes are held monthly at the Village Hall on the second Saturday (October-May), and during the summer months at the Castleton-on-Hudson Farmers and Artisans Market (COHFAM) on the second Friday. Note that we skip an occasional month or schedule something special, such as offering repairs at the Winterfest at the Castleton Fire Department!
Castleton-on-Hudson is an old Village, 10 miles south of Albany, on the east bank of the Hudson River. We thank the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson, our Village Library staff, and our talented fixers.
