Bring your beloved but broken item to the Esopus Library, high above the Hudson, and together, with a volunteer Repair Coach, fix it... for FREE!
Note these updates for May 4: Today there will be no blade sharpening, photo restoration or digital software help.
This is an all-volunteer project..and sometimes not everyone can make it or plans change last minute. We do our best to post information about which repairs are available at each host location—but sometimes we don’t know until the day-of. Thanks for understanding!
We are delighted that the Library has added Repair Cafe to their already wonderfully creative schedule of special programs! Free coffee and tea; home-baked treats by donation.
The 2019 schedule of Repair Cafes is: January 5, March 2, May 4, July 6 (TBC), Sept 7 (TBC) and Nov 2 (TBC). The times are 11AM to 3PM in the downstairs activity room (accessible by elevator from the main floor, or by driving to the lower level parking area.)
See the Repair Cafe page on the Library website: https://www.esopuslibrary.org/repair-cafe
Here are the repair categories they typically are able to offer:
Mechanical, electrical and electronic devices, sewing & clothes mending, jewelry, photo restoration, blade sharpening (limit: 2 per person), things made of wood, and bicycles.
We need additional help at the digital table--could that be you?
Do you have questions about what kind of items you can bring for repair? Or would you like to offer your skills to repair things for your neighbors?
