CATSKILL

Take a trip to the adorable village of Catskill where artists rose to fame, Rip Van Winkle slept, and the first Greene County Repair began!

WHAT IS A REPAIR CAFE?

Repair Cafes are events where the community can bring their broken, but beloved items to be repaired FOR FREE by volunteer fixers who specialize in various fields such as: electrical and mechanical, welding, woodworking and gluing, jewelry, sewing and mending, sewing machine, bike and computer repair, photo restoration, and blade sharpening. Our event flyers will detail the services offered at each cafe, but feel free to email us the day before to be sure as they may vary.

Fixers Needed!

You don't have to be an expert to volunteer as a fixer. Shadowing another fixer at our cafe is a great way to learn!

LOCATION/TIME

The Catskill Repair Cafe is held at the Robert C. Antonelli Senior Citizens Center on specified Saturdays from 10am-2pm.

RULES

You are welcome to bring several items, but you must go to the end of the line at that specific station after your first item is fixed. Please also ensure that your items are CLEAN!

PARTS

We have a variety of different parts on hand, but if your item needs a specific part to be repaired, please purchase it beforehand and bring it with you. We charge at cost for the parts we provide and are only accepting cash at this time. Please feel free to email us with questions.

WAITING TIMES

We cannot predict how long it may take to fix an item, so please be patient as this is not a drop-off service. Bring a book, grab some coffee, chat with other attendees, or learn a new skill by observing an item being repaired! Please note that out of respect to others, you must remain in the specified waiting area and if you leave the building, your place in line will not be saved.

SPONSORS

Our cafe is made possible through a grant from the Catskill Community Center, assistance from the Climate Smart Catskill Taskforce, The Toolshed Exchange and the Catskill Senior Citizens Center. We are also a project of Sustainable Hudson Valley and a member of Repair Cafe International. Other generous donors are acknowledged on social media and at our cafes.

If you have questions, are interested in volunteering or want to know if a specific fixer will be at our next event, please email us at RCCatskill@gmail.com or visit our FB page.
